Study Abroad – Admission without GRE

I hope you are doing well!

As many of you know GRE is a standardized test required for admission to a Master’s program in many top-ranked universities worldwide.

But, scoring high in GRE needs meticulous preparation and this becomes a challenge for students in the final year of under graduation who are busy with their academics and projects; and also for working professionals who might not have sufficient time for GRE preparation. If you are one of them, yet wishing to study at a top – ranked university, then this article is for you.

Australia: The country host many tops ranked universities like the University of Adelaide, Monash University, and the University of Queensland, etc. Universities in Australia do not require GRE for admission to their post-graduate programs.

New Zealand: New Zealand is home to top universities like the University of Auckland, Massey University and none of these Universities in New Zealand require GRE for admission to the Master’s program. Universities in New Zealand also offer a wide range of career-oriented Graduate and Post- Graduate diploma programs which are exempt from GRE for admission.

European Union: Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands are the popular destinations in the EU for the Master’s program in Engineering and MBA. With an exception to a few top-ranked universities, most of the universities in the EU do not require GRE for admission to the Master’s program.

United Kingdom (UK): UK has always been one of the predominant choices of Indian students to study Master’s program and is home to the world’s many ranked universities like the University of Oxford, Imperial College of London, etc. Universities in the UK offer a wide range
of specialized Master’s programs as well. GRE is not required for admission to any Universities in the UK.

Ireland: Ireland has become an increasingly popular destination for Indian students in recent years. With top universities like the University of Dublin, Trinity College of Dublin, Ireland is well-known for its Computer Science and Data Science programs, and admission to all these
programs is exempt from GRE.

Canada: There are many Universities in Canada that do not require GRE for admission to a Master’s program like the University of British Columbia, Lakehead University, etc. Canada is also known for its colleges which offer Graduate Diploma programs with a duration of 1-2 years which do not require GRE for admission.

USA: There is a general opinion among students that all universities in the USA require GRE for admission to their Master’s program. But, even in the USA, you might be surprised to know there are quite a few universities that do not require GRE for admission including the top-ranked ones like the University of Arizona, Drexel University, UMBC to name a few. There are many universities in California that do not require GRE for admission to Computer Science and Engineering programs.

The bottom line is there are many country options available for a study abroad aspirant who is unable to crack GRE for whatsoever reasons. With proper guidance and research, it is definitely possible for a student to get admission to a Master’s program in a top-ranked university without worrying about the GRE test.
